Just in: Tinubu signs student loan bill into law
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) a few minutes ago signed into law, the student loan bill, which provides for interest-free loans to indigent Nigerian students.
Dele Alake, a representative of the Federal Government, disclosed this to State House Correspondents on Monday evening.
The bill will enable Nigerian students to access loans at interest-free rates.
In November 2022, the legislation, which seeks to provide financial assistance to Nigerian students in tertiary institutions, was passed by the national assembly.
The bill was sponsored by Femi Gbajabiamila, immediate-past speaker of the House of Representatives.
