History was made in Nigeria’s Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) as Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Ann Oladayo formally assumed office in Lagos as the new Zonal Commanding Officer (ZCO) of the RS2 Zonal Command, covering Lagos and Ogun States—becoming the first woman to hold the position since the zone’s creation over 30 years ago.
The RS2 Zonal Command, which was initially headed by former FRSC Corps Marshal Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, has been led by a succession of male officers over the decades, with ACM Adeoye Irelewuyi being the most recent predecessor.
Oladayo’s appointment signals a historic shift in the leadership structure of the Corps and has been widely applauded within and beyond the organization.
With nearly 30 years of experience in road safety and public service, ACM Oladayo brings a wealth of operational, administrative, and strategic expertise to her new role. Prior to this appointment, she served in several high-profile positions across the FRSC.
Among her most notable roles, Oladayo was Corps Commander of the National Driver’s License (NDL), where she oversaw the integrity, administration, and nationwide coordination of Nigeria’s driver licensing system.
She also headed the FRSC Print Farm (Data Centre), ensuring the secure production and distribution of licenses across the country.
A strategic leader, Oladayo also served as head of the Secretariat of the National Road Safety Advisory Council (NaRSAC). In that role, she coordinated the activities of federal and state-level Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) under the NaRSAC Technical Working Group.
Her leadership was instrumental in aligning Nigeria’s road safety objectives with global frameworks such as the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She also oversaw the development of the Nigeria Road Safety Strategy (NRSS) II 2021–2030.

Academically accomplished, Oladayo holds three Master’s degrees, including in Geography and Peace and Security Studies, and is currently pursuing a doctorate.
Her leadership acumen is equally reflected in field operations, having served as Head of Operations for the FRSC Ondo State Sector Command, where she managed patrol logistics, discipline enforcement, and command oversight.
She has also held several critical ICT and intelligence-related roles within the Corps. These include stints as Sector/Unit Head of the Information Processing Centre (IPC) in Oyo State, where she was responsible for the authentication of driver’s licenses under the National Uniform Licensing Scheme (NULS), as well as Unit Commander and Intelligence Head in the Oluyole Unit Command, Oyo State.
Her earlier postings also include duties as Zonal Surveillance Officer across Plateau, Benue, and Nasarawa States—further showcasing her wide operational footprint across Nigeria.
A Fellow of the Security Institute (fsi), National Institute for Security Studies (NISS), and Associate Fellow of the International Strategic Management Institute, ACM Oladayo is widely regarded as a dedicated and trailblazing officer whose appointment sets a new precedent for female leadership in the FRSC.
Her assumption of office is expected to usher in a new era of disciplined, data-driven, and community-focused traffic safety and enforcement in the busy Lagos-Ogun corridor.
