However, some stakeholders kick against the new development, re-emphasizing the essence of local government autonomy in Nigeria.

A stakeholder declared: @BashirAhmaad “It is unfortunate to read that some local government chairmen have rejected the Supreme Court’s decision, which mandated that the federal government send local government funds directly to their accounts.

“Those chairmen are now asking the federal government to continue sending their money through state governments.

“Thankfully, the decision is final and upheld by our highest court, and it cannot be overturned by mere protests from local government officials.

“Any chairman who is not comfortable with the decision should resign and allow a progressive leader to take over.”

Meanwhile, local governments in some states have indicated their willingness to pull out of the ALGON.

Details of the new trend in subsequent reports.
