The Oyo State Government has approved the construction of toll gates at the entry and exit points of the Ibadan circular road, along with a toll plaza, flyover, and underpass, as part of an expanded scope of work.
The state Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, disclosed this in a statement issued in Ibadan on Thursday.
He stated that mini toll gates would be located at the Ife and Lagos ends of the road.
According to Oyelade, the State Executive Council (SEC) also granted approvals for the construction of a toll plaza, a flyover, and an underpass.
These additions, he explained, are to complement the expanded scope of work on the circular road project.
The commissioner further revealed that these additional constructions would increase the cost of the Jagun/Ibadan/Ife axis of the road, which spans approximately 16.7 kilometers, from the initial N66.2 billion to N92.2 billion.

Similarly, the SEC approved an expansion of the scope of work on the South-East segment of the road, along the Lagos/Ibadan/Jagun axis, which covers about 15.5 kilometers. This expansion will incur an additional cost of N16.9 billion.
Oyelade reiterated the Oyo State Government’s commitment to ensuring that the Ibadan circular road becomes operational by the year 2027.
