Oyo Assembly impeaches Deputy Governor Olaniyan
The Oyo State House of Assembly on Monday impeached the Deputy Governor, Rauf Olaniyan.
The deputy governor was impeached over allegations of gross misconduct after months of protracted disagreement.
The lawmakers proceeded with the impeachment after receiving the recommendation of the seven-man panel set up by the Chief Judge, Munta Abimbola, to investigate the Deputy Governor.
The lawmakers declared the impeachment immediate. The 23 PDP legislators present at plenary on Monday supported the impeachment.
