There is definitely a big relief at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea have received a major injury boost ahead of the EPL return. Mykhailo Mudryk was involved in Ukraine’s latest training session after his injury scare against England.

The 22-year-old started in their Saturday’s 1-1 draw against the Three Lions in Poland. The winger was however replaced in the 90th minute of their European Championship qualifier.

Mudryk had struggled with a knock at Cheslea in the opening weeks of the Premier League season

Mudryk appeared to have injured himself while attempting a Cruyff turn up against Kyle Walker, falling awkwardly and grabbing his calf in pain.

The 22-year-old had also received medical treatment in the first-half after a challenge from Marcus Rashford.

The £88million signing appears to have avoided another setback after struggling with a knock in the opening weeks of the Premier League season. National Daily report that the midfielder took part in training ahead of Ukraine’s latest qualifier against Italy on Tuesday.

The Evening Standard also report he is part of the group travelling to Milan on Monday ahead of that game.

Mudryk is yet to start a competitive game under Mauricio Pochettino. He has been limited to appearances off the bench having been ruled out of the 3-0 win over Luton Town.

Pochettino has been dealing with a number of injury problems with Christopher Nkunku, Reece James on sideline. Wesley Fofana, Carney Chukwuemeka and Trevoh Chalobah are also on treatment table.

Chelsea have picked up just one win this term against newly promoted Luton at Stamford Bridge. The Blues suffered a shocking defeat to Nottingham Forest at home heading into the international break.

Mudryk will hope to be involved when Chelsea return to action against Bournemouth on Sunday. The Ukrainian is still await his first Chelsea goal, registering two assists in 20 appearances.

Pochettino recently said of the winger’s struggles: ‘I think he needs to be more in the spirit to score. ‘But normally, today he played 45 minutes, he needs to have continuity. But first of all he needs to build his continuity and trust during the trainings during the week.

‘He’s a young player that needs to be trusted, we need to trust in him to create this relationship with us and with the team.

‘He has enormous quality and talent, I think it’s only [a matter of] time for him to settle better in the team and for sure he will find the way to perform in the way that we expect.’
