The modern way of life demands a lot out of us. There’s too much to do, and there’s very little time.
Furthermore, most of us are forced to spend our time chasing money. How can we stop this mindless rush? Are there more rewarding ways to spend time? Is there a way to make time and money work for us, instead of us getting oppressed by them?
According to travel photographer Shareena Ghassab Alameri, there surely is. Here, she takes time out to explain the importance of time and financial freedom to succeed in life.
According to Shareena Ghassab Alameri, success is impossible unless one realizes the importance of time and money. Most people have a limited view on the correlation between these two aspects, she says. People spend their time to earn money.
But they do not see that the reverse too is possible. Just like how we can increase our reserve of money, we can increase our reserve of time too, believes Alameri.
The starting point to make time and money work in our favor is to change our perception of the two factors. Like how we take ownership of ‘our’ money, we also need to have a strong sense of ownership of ‘our’ time, Alameri says.
Once we start perceiving money as a physical entity, we can then pay attention to how we spend time. We can use time as a resource. True, we all have only 24 hours in a day.
But, with modern technology, we can shorten the time taken to do a task. We can pack in more tasks into the time we have. We can pack in more efficiency in every minute, says Alameri.
Once we get hold of time and start using it as our own in a disciplined manner, we then can use the time to achieve financial freedom. Financial freedom helps us maximize our time.
With the money, we can afford instruments and technology that improve our efficiency to help us do more in the time we have, believes Alameri.
The one thing common between time and money is that both are spent. How we spend them decides the quality of our life. We can use time to make money, and we can use money to spend time in interesting, useful, and life-enriching ways.
Unless we see this correlation between time and money, it is impossible to live a fulfilling life, concludes Shareena.
We thank Shareena Ghassab Alameri for her insights and wish her more success.
