The University of Ibadan at the weekend hosted a landmark event for the UNESCO CogLabs Project Workshop at the Infinix ICT Resource Centre, underscoring significant strides in educational technology and student empowerment.
Speaking at the event, Oluwayemisi Ode, PR Manager for Infinix Nigeria, welcomed faculty members, partners, students, and distinguished guests to celebrate the growing partnership between Infinix, the University of Ibadan, UNESCO, and other key stakeholders.
Ode highlighted the remarkable progress since the launch of the renovated ICT Resource Centre, which has become a hub for fostering technical, entrepreneurial, and academic excellence among students.
“By investing in this facility, Infinix aims to empower students with state-of-the-art tools and skills necessary for success in today’s digital world,” Ode said.
This investment has also included opportunities for IT placements at Transsion Holdings, Infinix’s parent company, to equip students with practical, industry-relevant experience.
The workshop introduced new CogLabs modules focused on artificial intelligence, robotics, and programming. This expansion aims to provide students with practical, hands-on experiences that bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world applications.
