Senate President, Godswill Akpabio has urged legislators to work relentlessly for the sake of Nigerians.
Akpabio stated this at the plenary resumption on Tuesday in Abuja.
“Once again, let us be reminded that the Nigerian people have placed their trust in us, and it is our duty to honor that trust by working tirelessly for their well-being and the progress of the nation.
“As we resume our duties today, I warmly welcome you back to your duty posts.
Let me take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to all of you for the journey we have embarked on together,” he said.
The president of the Senate stated that the deaths of troops and other security personnel, as well as the sad explosion in Port Harcourt, which led to loss of innocent lives and caused widespread destruction, underscored the need to address safety measures and safeguard people’s well-being.
He stated that the rise in power and fuel costs highlighted the critical need to address issues of affordability, inflation, and the general health of the nation’s economy.

He stated that the Senate and the House of Representatives must unite and cooperate to pass the necessary laws to elevate Nigerians up.
He stated that politicians’ efforts must be centred on restoring hope, righting wrongs, and maintaining pledges to the people’s well-being.
The Senate President stated that the struggle against poverty and hunger must be comprehensive and rigorous, with a focus on tackling the underlying causes and restoring dignity to the marginalized.
He urged senators to approach their task with unshakable dedication and a strong sense of duty.
