2023 Presidency: Ex-minister reveals how Igbos helped Tinubu to win re-election as Lagos Gov
Ahead of the 2023 General Elections, A Former Minister for Health, Professor ABC Nwosu has urged political parties to put into consideration fairness, equity and justice by zoning their Presidential Ticket. Its no longer a news that the South-East is yet to produce a President since the return of Democratic Rule in 1999.
The Anambra State-born Elder statesman also appealed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader and Ex-Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to drop his Presidential Ambition and Support an Igbo Man for the 2023 APC Presidential Ticket. It will be recalled that South-East Politicians including Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and Governor David Umahi are Aspiring for the Presidency under the APC platform.
Nwosu reminded Tinubu, an Ex-Governor of Lagos State how the South-Easterners saved him from losing Re-election in 2003. It will be recalled that PDP defeated the defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD) in Five out of the Six States in the South-West in 2003 except Lagos State. Only Tinubu who was the then Governor of Lagos State survived the PDP Tsunami.
Nwosu stated that Tinubu’s Re-election was made possible by Igbos based in Lagos State, He revealed how he participated in Tinubu’s Campaign and mobilized Igbos to support and vote for him. Therefore, he urged Tinubu to payback in 2023 by supporting Igbo Presidency.
