The stomach is a muscular sac located in the upper middle of your abdomen, just below your ribs. According to a study, cancer disease is linked to certain things we are consuming today. In this article, I will be enlightening you on three common things that can cause stomach cancer if consumed excessively. They include.
Processed meats
Processed meat is any type of meat that’s been preserved by smoking, salting, curing, or canning. Most processed meats are red meats and according to research eating too much of this meat can increase your risk of type 2 diabetes and obesity which can further lead to stomach cancer.
Fried foods
Most people prefer fried foods to normal cooked foods probably because of their taste and nature. But a study shows that consuming too many fried foods is associated with a risk of stomach cancer. This is due to some ingredients used.
Alcohol
According to a study, acetaldehyde promotes DNA damage and oxidative stress. It also interferes with your immune function, making it difficult for your body to target precancerous and cancerous cells. Apart from causing cancer, consuming too much alcohol can result in many other health challenges like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and chronic kidney conditions.
Sugar and refined carbohydrates
When you eat excess sugar, the extra insulin in your bloodstream can affect your arteries all over your body. Sugar as the name implies can cause acids to build up in the stomach which may increase the risk of cancer and other stomach related diseases
