Festus Keyamo said that the office of the vice president is just an advisory body, so therefore they do not have the power to take a final decision. He said this while claiming that his presidential candidate has more experience than a presidential candidate who was once a vice president.
Dr. Bwala reacted to Festus Keyamo’s view of the office of Vice President as being just an advisory body.
Dr. Bwala first stated that anything provided for in the constitution means it is sacrosanct, which means it’s above other extant law. Therefore, the office of the Vice President is constitutionally provided.
Dr. Bwala said that the office of the vice president is so powerful that the vice president is the supervisor of the economic affairs of the country. Where all the governors of the federations, in addition to others, come every month for a conversation along that line.
He then clarified that the Vice President is the second most powerful individual in the country where the other branches of the government, like the legislature and the judiciary, are equal branches.
