AFCON 2023: Tinubu to watch the final live in Cote d’Ivoire
The president of the Confederation of African Football Federations, CAF, Patrice Motsepe, has revealed that President Bola Tinubu will attend the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final.
The match between Nigeria and hosts Cote d’Ivoire will take place at the Alassanne Ouattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan, on Sunday, February 11.
During a press conference in Abidjan on Friday, February 9, Motsepe said: “I was told the President of Nigeria is coming. I was sitting next to the Vice President during the Nigeria-South Africa game.
While I can’t show excitement when any nation scores, they said they could see my happiness. And yes, I am always happy.”
Asked about the possibility of Africa hosting the World Cup again, Motsepe replied: “Nigeria must put in a bid. I will have a conversation with President Tinubu about it.”
