A renowned populist advocate, Charly Boy Area Fada 1, on Wednesday, slammed the leader of the defunct militant Niger Delta Patriotic Front (NDPF), Asari Dokubo, for issuing a threat against protesters mobilising for mass action against hardship and suffering in the country.

Charly Boy reaffirmed his support for the Nigerian youths to engage in the nationwide protest.
Asari Dokubo, who admitted collecting money from the government to declare his opposition to the nationwide protest commencing on Thursday, August 1, dared protesters not to extend their activities to the Niger Delta, threatening to resist protest in the region.

‘Those who brought anti-sars people… they collected from me wotowoto.

Meanwhile, the Civil Liberties Organization (CLO), Rivers State Chapter, has questioned the popularity and influence of Asari Dokubo in Rivers State.

CLO spokesman in the state, Livingston Nwechie, speaking on a radio programme on Wednesday, dismissed the popularity and influence of Asari Dokubo on youths in Rivers State, saying that he is only known and obeyed by his boys.

There has been disquiet over the threat of violence against protesters by the former militant leader. Several stakeholders wonder while the Police nor the Nigerian Army had not arrested or invited Asari Dokubo for interrogation over his threat to peaceful protest.
