INEC extends PVC collection deadline in Edo
“INEC has granted a three-day extension for PVC collection following a request from stakeholders. The extension will run from September 13 to September 15, allowing more voters in Edo State to collect their cards before the upcoming governorship election.”
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced an extension for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Edo State, now running until September 15 in preparation for the state’s governorship election on September 21.
INEC National Commissioner Sam Olumekun disclosed the extension, which will start on September 13, following a request from stakeholders to allow more voters to retrieve their cards.
During an interactive meeting in Benin, attended by political party leaders, candidates, traditional and religious figures, security agencies, civil society groups, and the media.

INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun addressed various electoral and security concerns.
Olumekun confirmed that PVCs will be available at INEC’s 18 local government offices in Edo from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily during the extension period.
He urged all registered voters to use this opportunity to collect their PVCs but reminded that collection by proxy is not permitted.
