Abia State Governor Otti encourages youth to engage in politics

Speaking during a church service at The Transforming Church in Abuja on Sunday, Governor Otti emphasized the importance of youth involvement in political leadership.

“Every society needs the leadership it deserves,” he stated, warning that if young people remain passive, they will leave the decisions about their futures in the hands of politicians.

Otti challenged the youth, saying, “Don’t shy away from politics. That is where decisions about your future are made.” He referenced Psalms 62:11 to underscore that power ultimately belongs to God and encouraged young people not to shy away from pursuing it.

“You can make significant changes if you have power,” he asserted, highlighting that political office provides the opportunity to impact lives on a larger scale.

The governor shared his personal journey, explaining that he transitioned from the banking sector in 2014 to politics to make a difference and implement innovative approaches.

As governor, Otti remarked that a single action could influence the entire population of Abia State. He urged Christians to combine prayer with hard work, stating that this approach would help realize their dreams and aspirations.

During the service, the church’s lead pastor, Sam Oye, delivered a sermon on the goodness of God, encouraging Nigerians to maintain their faith and not lose hope in their dreams. Reading from Psalm 119:68, he emphasized the importance of kindness to others.

Pastor Oye thanked Governor Otti for his visit and reiterated the church’s commitment to praying for leaders in positions of authority.
