Dino Melaye exits PDP, calls it an APC ‘Parastatal’
PDP has been purchased by APC. PDP is a parastatal of the APC. PDP is a department of the APC. In fact, they take dates for NEC meetings and dates for when to have NWC from the [Presidential] Villa.
Former Senator Dino Melaye recently left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stating that the PDP has become a “parastatal” of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to Melaye, the PDP is not acting as a genuine opposition party. He claimed that the party’s governors are essentially promoting the APC and that the PDP is now “an extension” of the ruling party. During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, he said that PDP governors are not playing their role as opposition figures and are instead “holding fort for the APC.”
Melaye explained that he left the PDP because of its “lack of potency and capacity” to address the political issues facing Nigeria. He described the party as speaking “in tongue,” suggesting it has lost its way as an opposition force. To illustrate his point, he cited a statement from former PDP governor Babangida Aliyu, who said Nigerians should tolerate President Tinubu for four more years, a comment Melaye said was not the voice of an opposition member.
Melaye believes the ADC will create a stable platform to produce a candidate who can defeat President Tinubu in the 2027 election. He stated that he won’t discuss specific presidential aspirants until the ADC is fully stabilized and holds a transparent convention
