Tinubu appoints Daniel Bwala as media adviser, names three new DGs

After months of anticipation, President Bola Tinubu has appointed Daniel Bwala, former spokesman for the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar, as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications in the State House.

The announcement was made in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.

Bwala, a lawyer and seasoned public affairs analyst, brings a wealth of experience to his new role in the administration.

His appointment is seen as a significant move in strengthening the media and public communications team at the State House.

In addition to Bwala’s appointment, President Tinubu also named three other key officials to head major government agencies. They are:

• Olawale Olopade, who has been appointed as the new Director-General of the National Sports Commission. Olopade is an experienced sports administrator who previously served as Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Ogun State and chaired the local organizing committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival.

• Dr. Abisoye Fagade, the new Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism. Dr. Fagade is a marketing communications expert and founder of Sodium Brand Solutions, bringing a wealth of expertise to the tourism and hospitality sector.
• Dr. Adebowale Adedokun, appointed as the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement. Dr. Adedokun has a strong background in public procurement, having previously served as the Director of Research/Training and Strategic Planning at the bureau.

In his statement, President Tinubu urged the newly appointed officials to approach their roles with dedication, patriotism, and a commitment to excellence in order to contribute to the nation’s progress and development.
