EFCC arrests 74 cybercrime suspects in Abuja
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended 74 suspected internet fraudsters in a raid on a hotel in Nyanya, Abuja.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has dealt a fresh blow to cybercrime, arresting 74 suspected internet fraudsters in a coordinated operation in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The arrests took place on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the Joyous Hotel in Nyanya, a suburb of the capital city.
According to Dele Oyewale, spokesperson for the EFCC, the operation was executed following “credible intelligence” that linked the individuals to various internet-related criminal activities.

During the raid, EFCC operatives recovered a significant cache of items, including 86 mobile phones, a rifle pistol, and three motorcycles.
Oyewale confirmed that investigations are currently ongoing, and all suspects will be arraigned in court upon their conclusion.
This action underscores the EFCC’s relentless drive to combat financial fraud and cybercrime networks operating within Nigeria.
