At least 11 people have died and several others remain missing following severe flooding in Nairobi’s Grogan area on Friday, authorities confirmed. The torrential rains caused extensive damage to homes, streets, and local infrastructure, leaving residents struggling to cope with the sudden disaster.

Emergency responders, including local police and disaster management teams, have been deployed to search for missing individuals, assess the extent of property destruction, and provide assistance to displaced families.

Eyewitnesses described streets submerged in water, with some homes partially or completely washed away.

Officials warned that the flooding has created hazardous conditions, making rescue efforts challenging. Temporary shelters have been set up to accommodate those whose homes were damaged or destroyed, while relief supplies such as food, clean water, and medical aid are being distributed.

Authorities are urging residents in flood-prone areas to exercise caution and follow safety guidelines, as meteorological agencies have predicted continued rainfall in the region over the coming days.
