ADC secures first polling unit victory in Ekiti governorship election as results begin to emerge
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has recorded its first polling unit victory in the ongoing governorship election in Ekiti State, signaling an early boost for the party as vote counting continues across the state.
Results obtained from Ajagbala Hall Polling Unit in Okeruku Ward 02, located in Ikere Local Government Area, showed the ADC emerging victorious ahead of its major rivals.
According to the official result sheet sighted at the polling unit, the ADC polled 39 votes to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which secured 29 votes. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) finished third with 17 votes.
The outcome marks one of the earliest declared results in the election and provides an indication of the competitive nature of the governorship contest.
Earlier in the day, ADC governorship candidate Dare Bejide had raised concerns over the conduct of the election, alleging that some of his supporters were subjected to acts of intimidation and violence in parts of the state. He called on security agencies and electoral officials to ensure a peaceful and transparent voting process.

Meanwhile, collation of results is ongoing across the 16 local government areas of Ekiti State, with election observers, party agents and voters closely monitoring developments as more polling unit results begin to trickle in.
Political stakeholders are expected to keep a close watch on subsequent results to determine whether the ADC can sustain its early lead in some areas or whether the APC and PDP will gain momentum as the collation process progresses.
The governorship election is being keenly contested among the major political parties, with voters across the state casting their ballots to determine who will lead Ekiti State for the next four years. As counting continues, attention remains focused on the official announcements from the electoral authorities.
