After meeting Atiku, Wike flares up again, issues fresh threat
Rivers Governor has not let up in his eruption since he lost the party’s presidential ticket and the VP slot, shrugging off all entreaties, including the last London meeting, to sheathe his sword.
Party leaders and the flagbearer Atiku Abubakar have been running round to calm the loser, especially as he drifts towards defecting to either the APC or the LP.
The party has also considered the conditions Wike gave—including the resignation of Chairman Iyorcha Ayu. This concern has divided the party, thus helping the governor to keep up his brinkmanship.
He exploded afresh on Monday while flagging of another road construction, Eneka Internal Roads, in the Obio-Akpor area of the state.
“You’ve heard what is happening in PDP,” he told the crowd. “Nothing has happened yet but by the grace of God; something will happen.”
According to him, those who know him know that once he makes up his mind, and he believes that what he’s doing is right, he doesn’t mind any gang-up.
“As far as my conscience is clear, I will do what is right at all times.”
