Algeria crash out of AFCON after 1-0 loss to Mauritania in Group D fixture
Former African Champions Algeria lost 1-0 to Mauritania as they bowed out of the competition alongside Ghana and Mozambique.
The defeat sees Algeria not just being eliminated from the group as they finished bottom in Group D having only two points after a 1-1 draw with Angola in the first game and another 2-2 draw with Burkina Faso in the second game.
Despite numerous scoring chances falling to both sides, it took Mauritania 37th minute of the game to open the scoring in the contest.
