Amaechi explains what Abdullahi Adamu did to become the APC’s consensus candidate
At the APC national convention that took place in Abuja on Saturday, Senator Abdullahi Adamu of Nassarawa State emerged as the National Chairman of the party.
However, before the convention exercise, the APC already had some consensus candidates who were expected to occupy each of the party’s national offices. Senator Abdullahi Adamu was one of those candidates.
Rotimi Amaechi, Minister for Transportation, explained to Channel TV presenters how Abdullahi Adamu emerged as the party’s National Chairman consensus candidate. He made it known that the APC chose Senator Abdullahi Adamu amongst other popular and qualified candidates because of his numerous consultations with the party stakeholders as well as the national leader of the APC.
He made it known that Senator Adamu had consulted himself, President Buhari, Tinubu, and other founding members of the APC to plead for their support as the party chairman.
However, Rotimi Amaechi stated that the qualities possessed by Senator Abdullahi Adamu that qualify him as a consensus candidate are difficult to answer, because contestants are also qualified for the post, but only one person will occupy the post, and the decision to support any candidate is a matter of choice.
What is your take on the statement made by Rotimi Amaechi on the emergency of Senator Abdullahi Adamu as the consensus candidate of the APC?
