Anambra 2025: LP candidate, Muoghalu, pledges to involve all party leaders

The Labour Party (LP) candidate in the November 8 Anambra State Governorship election, George Muoghalu, has promised to involve all leaders of the party in his efforts to win the election.

The  is National Publicity Secretary of the LP, Obiora Ifoh, in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja, emphasized that Muoghalu made the pledge while receiving Certificate of Returns from the party leadership in Abuja on Tuesday.

The LP governorship candidate also extended the hands of fellowship to his opponent in the just-concluded governorship primaries, John Nwosu.

While maintaining that the primary election was free and fair, he expressed appreciation to the party for creating a level-playing ground for the success of the exercise.

“I am totally indebted to our national leader, His Excellency, Peter Obi, the Abia state governor, Dr Alex Otti, all our National Assembly members and even members of the state Houses of Assembly.

“I will reach out to all of them. I will like all of us to come together under one roof and do the needful by winning this election and adding it to the Labour Party family.

“For me, nobody won, nobody lost. Labour Party won. It is my responsibility to stretch out my hands of fellowship to my brother and friend (Nwosu) who had the courage to contest the election.

“He committed no offence by expressing his desire to lead like I did, but the choice of who to represent the party in the forthcoming election was for the delegates to make,” he said.

Muoghalu assured the party leaders of his firm commitment to not disappointing them.

“We are going into this election to win. I believe very strongly that power belongs to God and He gives to whom He wishes to at His own time and I believe that the time is now.

“I thank you for the encouragement, the support and for creating the enablement, for providing us a level-playing field and for not interfering.

“You allowed the will of God and the will of the people to prevail for which I am eternally grateful,” he said.

In his remarks, the Labour Party Deputy National Chairman, Clement Ojukwu, assured the candidate of the party’s support.

He said that the party was committed to the winning the governorship election in Anambra, assuring that it would go all out to ensure that the aspiration became a reality.

The party’s National Secretary,  Umar Farouk, presented the certificate of returns to Muoghalu, with other members of the National Working Committee in attendance.
