Army commander responds to Buhari’s fresh order to kill off violent Fulani herdsmen in Plateau in 10 days
Following series of large-scale killing in Riyom and Bassa LGAs of Plateau, President Muhammadu Buhari has issued a fresh order to the military.
No fewer than five people killed and 85 building destroyed at Jebbu Miango in one of the invasions on July 31.
A traditional ruler had to voice out the response of Operation Safe Haven soldiers called in to fend off they attack—that they claimed they had no order to act.
The marauders, as always, were militant Fulani herdsmen and bandits.
Reacting, Buhari mandated the military to kill all of non-state actors holding weapons in the state in 10 days..
While conveying the order to the troop, GOC, 3 Division, Rukaba, Maj.-Gen. Ibrahim Ali, who was already accused of conspiracy to wipe off the Miango, said the president order must be carried out.
“The Commander-in-Chief, President Muhammadu Buhari has asked us to gun down anybody seen carrying illegal weapon and we must carry out the order.
“Those people must be criminals. You have to go into the bush and clear them wherever they are hiding”, he said.
