Casualties as bus carrying musical band plunges into river
A bus conveying a church musical band from a concert in Taraba back to Yola, Adamawa, fell into a river in Taraba on Sunday.
No fewer than four persons died, and many others got injured in the mishap.
The group reportedly belong to the Christian Reform Church-Nigeria (CRC-N) unity band.
The corpses of the deceased members were deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Center, Jalingo.
Health workers are attending to the injured, too.
Describing the incident as a rude shock, the chairman of the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Jirapye Isaiah Magaji, said the victims died in the service of the Lord.
“I have been moving around since morning consoling with the families of the victims,” he said.
