Crisis looms in Tinubu’s dynasty, Commissioner for Physical Planning resigns in Lagos
There are emerging indications that latent crisis may be looming in the political dynasty in Lagos State of the president candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development in Lagos State, Dr. Idris Salako, resigned his appointment. The resignation was followed by strict warning from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on adherence to sectoral guidelines in the state.
The former commissioner is, however, yet to give details of his resignation at this critical period of preparations for the 2023 general elections.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announcing the resignation of Salako in Ikeja on Monday, said that the commissioner’s resignation was a prelude to the restructuring of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development and its agencies.
Omotosho said that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has accepted the resignation of the commissioner, thanking him for his services to the state and wishing him success in his future endeavours.
Omotoso, however, revealed that “The governor warns all players in the sector to respect the law or face the consequences of any indiscretion, no matter who the perpetrators are.”
