Economic Hardship: Nigerians should turn back to God and seek forgiveness — Oluwo
The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, expressed his belief that the current economic difficulties being experienced by Nigerians call for help from a higher power. He emphasized the importance of seeking divine intervention during these challenging times.
The monarch made these remarks on Saturday, November 9, while presiding over the celebration of the fourth annual “Odun Olodunmare” festival, which took place in his palace located in Iwo. This festival is an important event that brings together the community to celebrate and reflect on their cultural and spiritual values.

During his speech, the Oluwo highlighted that what Nigerians truly need at this moment is to reconnect with God. He called on the people to turn back to God in prayer, seeking both forgiveness and the wisdom necessary to address the various economic struggles facing the nation. He noted that when society finds itself in such difficult circumstances, it is essential to guide everyone back to their faith, just as he has made it a priority to do today.
The Oluwo further stressed that if there are any feelings of being unthankful or ungrateful towards God among the people, it is crucial that they seek forgiveness. He firmly believes that only through acknowledging their shortcomings and turning to God can they hope for relief from their troubles. He reassured his listeners that God’s intervention is vital and encouraged everyone to unite in seeking guidance from the one true God, who has the power to grant them the wisdom they need and to lift the burdens they carry. By doing this, he hopes that the challenges and difficulties, which he described metaphorically as curses, will be lifted from their lives, allowing for a brighter future for all Nigerians.
