El-Rufai condemns Killing of 37 persons in attack on Kaura
Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State on Monday condemned the attack on two communities in Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna State, in which about 37 people were killed.
Governor El-Rufai in a statement by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, decried that the attacks was inhuman, noting that it defied the efforts of the state government, security forces, traditional institution and other critical stakeholders to restore security in the past weeks.
The governor condoled the people of Malagum and Sokwong communities for the deaths, praying for the repose of the souls of those killed.
The military and other security agencies had revealed that bandits attacked the communities, killing several persons and burnt houses and other property.
El-Rufai had directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to urgently provide relief materials to the communities. Meanwhile, urgent security intervention is being conducted by the Defence Headquarters Operation Safe Haven.
