Family demands justice for son wrongly jailed in Kwara

The family of Mohammed Olasunkanmi in Ile Igbale at Ilorin in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State has demanded for justice for their son who was wrongly jailed in 2014 over a fracas involving All Progressive Congress APC and the Peoples Democratic Party PDP supporters during the campaign for the Saturday November 29th, 2014 elections.

The family in a statement called on the state police command to fish out one Ariyo Kamaroudine Akanho from hiding and bring him to face justice for his role in a mayhem that engulfed the community in 2014.

They alleged that Ariyo who is at large since 2014, was the brain behind the fracas between the All Progressive Congress APC and the Peoples Democratic Party PDP supporters during the campaign for the Saturday November 29th, 2014 elections.

According to the family, Ariyo was the Chief Security Officer during the campaign that mobilised youths from his neighbourhood to support him when fracas broke out between the two political parties.

Police later intervened and raided the campaign area where they arrested some youths including their son Olasunkanmi and were charged to court and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for the mayhem.

The family said they made publications in 2015, 2017 and 2019 respectively to declare ARIYO KAMAROUDINE AKANHO wanted.

Despite carrying out a series of searches for him, nothing has been heard from the general public about his whereabouts up till now as this publication is important to know his whereabouts.

“The family has been in great despair since our son has been in prison and we want Mr. Ariyo to face justice for his role in the fracas”.

“We urge Ariyo to turn himself into any police station within Kwara State or nationwide to face his own 10 years imprisonment term because he is part of the fracas and should be in prison himself because his party was found responsible for the fracas and mayhem.”

“We are pleading with the general public that if anyone has relevant information about his whereabouts to contact Olasunkanmi’s father – Mr. Olanrewaju Mohameed on the telephone numbers 08081474961 and 08098098035 to bring MR. ARIYO KAMAROUDINE AKANHO to justice for his misconduct.”
