FG urges Nigerians in Ukraine to remain calm amidst rising tension
The federal government has urged Nigerians resident in Ukraine to remain calm amidst rising tension over fear that Russia may invade Ukraine. Chairman of the Nigeria Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, enjoined Nigerian citizens living Ukraine to be calm and vigilant, promising that the Nigerian Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine, is monitoring events and doing all it can to ensure the safety and security of all Nigerians in Ukraine.
Tension has been building in Ukraine over massive deployment of military personnel and war equipment to the border territory of Ukraine by Russia, as well as military buildup in Ukraine by the U.S. and the European Union allies.
There are fears that the 1962 Cuba missile crisis is playing out against between the U.S. and Russia in their armament and super power race.
