Finally, Peter Obi replies Tinubu
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi has finally responded to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress after he said the opposition parties, including the Labour Party and other seemingly small parties will labour till they die.
Recall that Bola Tinubu had yesterday, during the APC’s campaign for Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, the party’s Governorship candidate for Osun State Governorship election mocked the opposition parties, referring to them as “mushroom parties”.
Peter Obi has been quiet since Tinubu made the above comment, despite the controversies it has garnered so far. However, the former Governor of Anambra State has finally reacted to the statement which many people have condemned.
While campaigning for Honourable Lasun Yusuf, the Governorship candidate of the Labour Party for the Osun State Governorship election which will hold on Saturday, July 16, 2022, Peter Obi commented on the need for the good people of Osun State to vote wisely.
While speaking to the crowd, he said that if they think that those who have kept Nigeria in darkness is better, they should remember that they are the ones that will suffer from the hardship they will bring when they are voted in again.
He told them that their future has been stolen by some bad leaders, and that they want to recover their future for them.
While commenting on Tinubu’s statement, Peter Obi said that he heard that someone (Bola Ahmed Tinubu) said that the Labour Party will labour till death. He said that when they speak in that manner as a show of hatred, the Labour Party will show them love.
He noted that there is dignity in labour as they can’t move the country from consumption economy to production economy without labour, adding that anyone who has laboured will have a reward.
He also urged them to ignore any politician who tries to buy their votes. He told them that if they sell their votes, the next four years will be worse. But even if they want to collect their money, they should not forget to vote with their conscience because the money they are giving to them is their money they have stolen.
