Four adults defile two toddlers in Lagos

Wonders shall never cease as four adults defiled two toddlers of the same parents at Fagba area of Lagos.

The suspects who were Tuesday paraded by the Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) Mr Ayodele Abafi at Alausa office are Deji Adenekan (39) from Ogun state; Peter Arabu (33) from Edo state; John Mahason (24) from Kogi state and Taye Ojo.

Abafi, who condemned the act explained that they had a distress call on the 8th November, 2015 from an NGO and swooped on the location on Monday leading to the arrest of the suspects.

He added that the toddlers identified as Shemilogo (3) and Shemilore (5) were brutally molested when their father  left them in their care as they work together as labourers in Kazmus Nigeria Limited.

NSCDC boss called on all and sundry to join hands in the fight against sexual molestation of toddlers in the state. “This is no longer rape but defilement. We would ensure that justice is done. We have taken them to the Lagos State University Hospital (LASUTH) for examination and will relay on their reports for prosecution.

“How on earth would this individuals be embarrassed sexually, What do they know? We want the state government to come to our aid to ensure that this noxious practice does not escalate in the state.

“The law must take its course. We must appreciate the human rights activist through the efforts of Dr Sholaike. Parents should give birth to the number of children they can take care of. If they must go to work, they should put them at Day Care centres and pay for them. There are bruises in their private part. This is terrible and despicable.”

The elder of the toddlers told National Daily that one of the suspects Akpako actually inserted his penis into his Virginia adding that he also inserted it into his mouth and asked him to leak his semens.

One of the suspects, Mahason, who is a security man at Kazmus Enterprise Nigeria Limited said he was innocent as he was wrongly accused of being s rapist.

He explained, “The father of these children sometimes bring them to stay with me to help take care of them when he not around. Their father pleaded with my manager of lack of accommodation, and they started staying with us. As it is now, people might not believe anything I say except God that knows what actually happened.

“The children know our names because we play with them, cook and take care of them. When this thing happened, they started pointing at us.

“For the past four years, I have never slept with any girl not to talk of toddlers. It is unfortunate that thre’s nothing you say that human beings will believe you.

Another suspect John Arabu, a tiler by profession and married with three kids feign innocence. “I don’t know anything about the rape. Why will I rape a toddler?” he asked.

However, the father of the two kids, Ayodele Ekundayo, a divorcee said he singlehanded brought the children up after the wife left him when she was caught red-handed having sex with another man.

The Kabba-Kogi man trained furniture maker who now does menial jobs said he found himself as a squatter when the landlord ejected him due to his inability to pay house rent.

Narrating how he knew about the defilement said, “When I came back from where I went for menial job, Shemilogo was shouting pepper on her private part. She removed her pant and lay on the bed shouting pepper. On inquiry, she told me Akpako inserted his ‘thing’ into her and also put it in her mouth warning her that if she tell anybody, he would kill her.”

“She mentioned Akpako, Segun, Ejima and John. When I confronted them, Akpako warned me that he will deal with me if I say anything about it.

Advising parents to embrace God to have a successive marriage added that he will never trust any friend again. He solicited for help to rent a house so that he can train his children and go back to his furniture making.
