Fraudsters hack governor Adeleke’s phone
The Osun State Government has issued a public notice over a security breach involving Governor Ademola Adeleke‘s official phone number.
The compromised number, +234 803 365 7555, is said to have been hacked by Fraudsters, resulting in potentially fraudulent communications being sent from it.
Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the Governor’s spokesman, issued a statement advising the public to reject any calls or texts received from the compromised phone number.
“Members of the public should ignore any such communications as they are not authorized by the Governor,” Rasheed stated.
The state administration is working hard to fix the security breach and get the governor’s communication lines back up and running.

In addition to attempts to stop such incidents in the future, an inquiry of the incident is now underway.
Officials and locals are advised to report any unusual conversations or activities involving the hacked number.
As they attempt to remedy the issue and tighten security surrounding the governor’s communications, the administration pledges to keep the public informed.
It should be noted that this is not the first time a state governor’s phone number has been compromised; on February 11, 2023, fraudsters gained access to Bassey Otu’s phone number in Cross Rivers State.
