Gunmen kidnap 3-months old baby, 7 others in Zamfara
Gunmen kidnapped a three-month-old baby with the mother and six other persons at Kanoma village in Maru Local Government Area, Zamfara State. Two people were said to be killed in the operation.
An eyewitness, Ibrahim Muhammed, was gathered to have said that the kidnappers widely known as bandits struct in the village in hundreds and fired gunshots sporadically into the air to scare the residents away.
The bandits were said to be demanding for N50 million ransom for the release of the kidnapped victims.
The Public Relations Officer of the Zamfara State Police Command, Mohammed Shehu, was said to have confirmed the attack though saying that no one was killed but acknowledged that eight persons, mostly women, and children were kidnapped by the gunmen.
