Herbalist collects N10m, sleeps with bizwoman seeking spiritual help
Nurudeen Ibraheem promised to help a business woman boost her business, and he ended up sponging on her to the tune of N0 million, and sleeping with her more than once.
Problem started when the businesswoman said she began to feel strange in her body, and she had to till her family members whom the herbalist warned she must not tell.
Parading the suspect, the Ondo police command’spokesperson, DSP Sunday Abutu , said the fraudster was nabbed by the Command’s Anti-Fraud Unit at Aramoko-Ekiti.
According to him, the Ekiti-based herbalist defrauded the 50-year-old businesswoman of Ogundele Street, Agbado in Ogun State to the tune of N10,400,000 and raped her on several occasions.
The victim explained that she met the suspect in Aramoko-Ekiti sometime in September 2019 when her business was retrogressing and was told to meet him for some rituals in order to make her business flourish and stable.
She narrated that between September 2019 and 2021, the herbalist has collected N8,000, 000 through bank transfers and an additional N2,400,000:00 cash from her as the cost of the rituals.
The threat she would die if she informed anyone kept her from telling her husband.
But she decided to open up to her family members after she started noticing negative signs all over her body, lost her menstruation, lost her business and became very ill.
It was a family member who informed the police, leading to the arrest of the herbalist.
