How police arrest 8 for attacking governor

For their unethical behaviour and action, eight men have been arrested by the Nigeria Police, in Nasarawa State for allegedly attacking Governor Tanko Al-Makura.
According to the police Command Public Relations Officer, Ismaila Umar-Numan, the men on December 5, 2015 allegedly threw caution to the wind by attacking the Governor during the funeral of Alhaji Mohammadu Yamusa II, the late Emir of Keffi.
The state Police Command Public Relations Officer, Ismaila Umar-Numan, who stated this stated that some angry youths were alleged to have stoned the governor’s convoy and called him names during the late Emir’s burial.
“As I am talking to you, eight persons have been arrested over the attack on Gov.Tanko Al-Makura during the burial of the late Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Mohammadu Yamusa II on Friday.
“The police will continue to maintain law and order in the state considering the importance of peace to the socio-economic development of the state and the country at large,” he said.
Umar-Numan said that the suspects were being investigated and called on the youths in the state not to take the law in their hands.
