I will sponsor FCT referees to local, international training – FCT FA Chairman
Chairman, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Football Association Mouktar Mohammed has promised to sponsor the training and retraining of FCT Referee Association members, National Daily learnt.
He added that the he will do everything to make sure that they acquired necessary training and certificate they need which will qualify them to be picked and officiate on Africa and world stages.
Mouktar made this disclosure on Thursday during the courtesy visit by the Referee Association led by the state Chairman, Hashimu Adamu who urged the Chairman to carry everybody along in his developmental approach which has commenced in earnest.
The gesture according to the FCT FA Chairman is geared towards having more Abuja referees particularly the male officials acquiring necessary training and skills to qualify as FIFA badge referees which will make FCT referees present not only in the national scene but also on the continent and global stages.
Mouktar urged the referee council to go to the grassroots and recruit younger referees from the six Area Councils and promised to support and finance the recruitment exercise.
The referee council during the visit thanked the chairman and presented congratulatory card and letter to the chairman and the Board.
The vote of thanks was said by the member of the Board, coach Samuel Abimbola.
