Insecurity: Defend yourself — Kastina Gov. Radda tells residents
The executive governor of Katsina State, Dikko Radda, has told residents of the state to take proactive measures in defending themselves against attacks by bandits.
Speaking at an emergency security meeting on February 9, the governor said rather than always relying on government intervention, residents should form groups and protect themselves.
According to him, “We must review the security situation in the state, take action to find a solution, and address these challenges. Apart from insecurity, there are other challenges like the rising cost of food and hunger amongst the population.
Government is fully prepared to assist through training & the provision of logistics.
We are all aware of the current skyrocketing of the prices uhh of foodstuff, which led to protests in Niger State, Kano & other places.
It has not gotten to our state yet but it is necessary for us to meet & see how we can mitigate the situation before it gets out of hand.”
