#JusticeForMohbad: I’ve invited the DSS to join the investigation — Gov. Sanwo-Olu
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has invited the Department of State Services (DSS) to join the investigation into the death of Nigerian singer, Mohbad.
Sanwo-Olu made the announcement in a statement issued on Thursday, September 21, 2023.
The governor said that he has invited the DSS to join the investigation because of the “serious” nature of the case.
“The death of Mohbad is a serious matter and I want to assure the public that the Lagos State Government is committed to finding out the truth and bringing the perpetrators to justice,” Sanwo-Olu said in the statement.
The Lagos State Police Command has already launched a special investigation team to probe the death of Mohbad. However, Sanwo-Olu said that he has invited the DSS to join the investigation because of the “need for a comprehensive and holistic investigation.”

The governor also appealed to the public to provide any information they have about the case to the police or the DSS.
“I urge anyone with information about the death of Mohbad to come forward and provide it to the police or the DSS,” Sanwo-Olu said.
The #JusticeForMohbad campaign has been gaining momentum in recent weeks, with many people calling for a thorough investigation into the death of the artist.
Sanwo-Olu’s decision to invite the DSS to join the investigation is a welcome development. The DSS is a powerful intelligence agency with a lot of resources and expertise. The involvement of the DSS in the investigation could help to shed some light on the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.
The #JusticeForMohbad campaign is a reminder of the need to protect artists from exploitation and abuse. It is also a reminder of the power of social media to mobilize people to take action against injustice.
