Man remanded for raping a 13-yr-old girl in Ekiti
Adeleye Akingbaso, a 45-year-old prophet who allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl in Ekiti State has been remanded in the Nigeria Correctional Centre
He was remanded by an Ekiti State Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado Ekiti, on Wednesday, August 17
It was gathered that Akingbaso allegedly raped the minor at Ajowa Area of Ado Ekiti on July 25, 2022
According to Spokesperson of the command, DSP Abutu Sunday, in a statement on Thursday stated that Investigation revealed that the suspect, on noticing that the victim’s mother had left home for a vigil in the Church, sneaked into their room & committed the act, claiming that he intended to spiritually deliver the victim. He further promised to attack her spiritually if she informs her mother
In his ruling on Wednesday, the Chief Magistrate, Olu Bamidele ordered that the suspect be remanded at the correctional centre pending the issuance of legal advice by the Director of Public Prosecutions
