Manchester United in clear race for Victor Osimhen’s transfer
Manchester United could easily complete the transfer of striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli going by the claims by former Napoli midfielder Salvatore Bagni.
The Nigeria international has since generated interests from Premier League giants Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.
Meanwhile, the report reaching National Daily from Bagni claim suggests that the 24-year-old is only willing to join one of two clubs this summer.
Osimhen’s sensational season of 31 goals in 39 games which helped Napoli win their first Serie A title in 33 years while also reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League was enough to attract interest from some of the European giants even outside the Premier League.
And with United expected to sign a new striker this summer after releasing Cristiano Ronaldo at the end of last year has since seen Osimhen emerged as a strong target for Erik ten Hag.
Similarly, Chelsea who are also expected to spend big on a goalscorer for new manager Mauricio Pochettino with the sale of Romelu Lukaku and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang imminent have been liked with Osimhen.
Again, Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Osimhen, but it has been revealed by Bagni that the former Lille striker would only be interested in a summer move to two clubs.
The ex-Italy midfielder Bagni, who won the Scudetto-Coppa Italia double with Napoli has ruled out Osimhen’s return to France or Germany.
According to Bagni, a move to Liverpool or Chelsea for Osimhen is very unlikely.
‘He doesn’t go to Liverpool or Chelsea because they do not play the Champions League.
‘Of all the teams associated with him, for me, he would only go to Manchester United and Real Madrid. He’s not interested in the other teams.’
