Manchester United has reaffirmed its commitment to manager Erik ten Hag, despite the team’s disappointing start to the Premier League season.
The club’s chief executive, Omar Berrada, expressed unwavering support for ten Hag, who led United to an unexpected FA Cup final win against Manchester City last season.
Berrada emphasized that the club’s belief in ten Hag remains strong, even following their recent 3-0 defeat to Liverpool.
New sporting director Dan Ashworth echoed Berrada’s sentiments, stating that he is fully supportive of ten Hag and his vision for the team.
Ashworth praised ten Hag’s leadership and tactical acumen, and expressed his commitment to providing the manager with the necessary resources and support.
Ashworth also discussed the club’s transfer activity, which saw the arrivals of Matthijs De Ligt, Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, and Noussair Mazraoui.

While the club welcomed these new signings, they also parted ways with several players, including Scott McTominay and Jadon Sancho.
Sancho’s departure to Chelsea was a notable move, following a falling-out with Erik ten Hag, earlier in the season.
Ashworth explained that the decision to allow Sancho to leave was mutually agreed upon, as the club felt they had sufficient depth in the attacking positions.
Despite the challenges and setbacks, Manchester United remains committed to ten Hag and his long-term vision for the club.
