Mr. Solomon Akwashiki, the lawmaker representing Lafia Central Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has reaffirmed his commitment to impactful representation and delivering more dividends of democracy to alleviate the plights of his constituents.

Akwashiki made this pledge on Tuesday when he was conferred with the chieftaincy title of “Danmasani” (knowledgeable person) by the Agyaragu Community in Lafia.

The lawmaker highlighted some of his interventions in the constituency, which include the sinking of boreholes, rehabilitation of roads, provision of free Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to students, as well as employment and youth empowerment initiatives.

“I have done my best toward improving on the people’s standard of living through my various policies and programmes. I want to assure you by God’s grace of my commitment to do more in order to improve on your standard of living,” he said.

He stated that the honor bestowed on him by the traditional ruler was a clear demonstration that his leadership was being felt by his constituents. “It means, the infrastructure I have provided and the bill I am sponsoring is impactful; it means the motion I am moving in the chamber is yielding the required results,” Akwashiki said.

He promised to leverage his position to provide more dividends of democracy with the view to alleviating the plights of his constituents. “Even when the crowns were not there, I was performing and now that I am appreciated; you should expect more boreholes, rehabilitation of roads, developmental programmes and policies that will justify the essence of governance. I am committed to bringing government closer to my people and will not relent; I know why I was elected. I am just two years in office and I have another two years to go. You will see more development,” he added.
