NERC restricts DisCos from increasing meter price for customers who already paid

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has issued a strong warning to DisCos across the country to the effect that they are restricted from increasing meter price for customers who have already paid.

NERC Commissioner for Finance and Management Services, Nathan Shatti Rogers, in a media interaction decalred:

“You must meter customers at the price it was when they initially paid. You can’t charge them more.”

Nathan Shatti Rogers cautioned DisCos that they can not increase the meter price for customers that have already paid.
