The Nigerian Army has released Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, from military custody after one day of detention.
Some Nollywood actors posted a video on social media showing Agu with two representatives of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) who intervened for his freedom.
One of the Actors who represented the Guild to negotiate Agu’s release, said that the freed actor is hale and hearty.
Chiwetalu Agu was viewed in an online video when he was arrested by soldiers in the vicinity of Upper Iweka Bridge, Onitsha, Anambra State, for wearing Biafra outfit.
The Nigerian Army had in a statement indicated that Agu was arrested for attempting to incite the public into violence and soliciting for support for the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
