The people of Ogombo Land in Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, on Sunday trooped out in their numbers to celebrate the coronation of the first traditional ruler of the community, Oba Muslim Ogunbo.

Speaking during the occasion in Ogombo, the Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, described it as an historical event as it the first coronation ceremony for the first traditional ruler in the community.

Sanwo-Olu was represented by the state Commissioner for Home Affairs, Mr Anofiu Elegushi.

The traditional ruler called on Nigerians to imbibe the virtue of peace and unity, saying it is capable of ensuring growth and success in any community.

He appreciated his community members, the young and old for their cooperation and support so far.

He also appreciated Sanwo-Olu and all community leaders in Eti-Osa Local Government Area for identifying with the community.

“I congratulate all Ogombo indigenes for this historical moment. From our fathers to our youths and to our mothers, this would not have been possible without their prayers, support and most importantly, their sacrifice.

“I also appreciate my family for standing by me all through the period and being a pillar of moral support,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that dignataries at the event included the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, represented by Oba Adebisi Layede; Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi and Oba Saheed Elegushi of Ikate Land among others.
