Ondo 2020: PDP receives support from 10 political parties to unseat Akeredolu
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the October 10 governorship election in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede, on Monday received 10 political parties which declared massive support for the party towards unseating the incumbent Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The political parties dedicated their structures to mobilization of support for the PDP candidate. Some of the political parties were identified to include the Accord Party, APGA, SDP, AAC, the ADP, etc.
It was gathered that the State Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Oladele Ogunbameru, on behalf of the 10 political parties at a press conference in Akure, Ondo State, stated that the parties aligned with the PDP because of their commitment to good governance. He further said that the alliance reflected purposeful commitment to save Ondo State from the political quagmire and undesirable socioeconomic predicament witnessed under the current administration.
The parties assured Jegede of the massive support of their members at the polls on Saturday.
