Osun 2022: Oyetola undecided over result, defeat, consults APC stakeholders
Outgoing Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State, the defeated candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Saturday governorship election in the state, expressed on Sunday that he is undecided over the result of the governorship election won by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ademola Adeleke. The governor acknowledging the result said that it is being studied by the party, adding that he is consulting with APC stakeholders.
Governor Oyetola in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan, admitted taking cognisance of the governorship election results in the state announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday; he urged his supporters and the people of Osun State to remain calm and go about their businesses without let or hindrance.
The Governor enjoined security operatives to ensure the maintenance of law and order. Oyetola, accordingly, ordered security operatives to take adequate charge so as to prevent the breakdown of law and order.
Adeleke of the PDP won the election with 403, 371 votes, while Oyetola lost with 375, 027 votes.
